Is the credit crunch troubling you as well? There is a solution. Many companies are feeling the effects of the financial crisis at present. The expectations for next year are zero growth or a shrinking economy. These developments require attention. This goes for certain sectors in particular, such as the automotive industry and estate agency. The cabinet has taken steps to limit these effects on employers as far as possible. One of these steps is the special short-time working scheme. Using this scheme, you will be able to ensure retention of jobs and you will be making immediate savings on your costs. What does the scheme entail? Until 1 January 2009 you will be able to submit a request to the UWV (institute for employed persons' insurance schemes) if, to put it briefly, the case involves critical loss of turnover. You will have to act quickly, for things are done on a first come first served basis. The scheme is linked to a maximum number of employees. Once this national maximum has been reached, the scheme will be ceased. Your employees remain employed when applying the scheme. They receive unemployment benefit, while you save on your staff costs.
