University

TK offers ambitious and enterprising law students in the third year of their degree or beyond the opportunity to do a work placement. The work placement lasts an average of two months, but alternative arrangements can be made regarding the specifics and duration.

You will share a room with another solicitor or junior notary and be fully involved in the work of the team (Real Estate, Environmental and Administrative Law, Private and Family Law, Corporate Law and M&A, IP/IT & New Media, Employment and Civil Service Law or Non-Profit / Care & Welfare).
You will be involved in dealing with case files, sorting out legal issues and giving advice. It's a challenge to help think about the best solution for the client. In the solicitor's side of things you will attend hearings and meetings. In the notarial side of things you will witness the end-to-end process, from initial meeting to execution of the deed.

The work placement is characterised by a considerable degree of independence in combination with the necessary support. You'll be supervised and will receive feedback from an experienced solicitor or junior notary. Within TK's team-driven culture with its ample room for own initiative, as a student on work placement you'll also have plenty of opportunity to develop yourself and to get noticed within the practice. During the work placement there is also sufficient time to get to know the people from TK during lunches, over drinks, on in-house courses and in divisional consultations. You can also join us at the ('Jonge Balie', or young bar association) get-togethers or network meetings.
If you are enterprising and interested in the profession of solicitor or notary, then spending some time on a work placement at TK could be an informative and enjoyable experience for you.
