When a civil law notary or an authority has asked for your signature to be legalized under a certain document, you can have this done by any public notary. The civil law notary then determines that you have signed the relevant document yourself.
This ensures that the signature you have put on the document (usually a proxy or a statement) is actually your signature. You sign the relevant document in the presence of civil law notary or an employee of the civil law notary’s office, so not in advance.
You can legalize your signature – without an appointment – by coming to our office in Leiden with your authorization or statement. This is possible on all office days from 9 am to 12 noon and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. You must bring a valid proof of identity.
You do not have to wait until the document is made, we make sure that the relevant document is sent to the civil law notary office or the authority the same day. You will receive a digital copy from us by e-mail.
For companies and other organizations we often provide legalizations and / or a declaration of authority (apostille). The rates depends on the required work.
We work with daily couriers in order to deliver your legalized documents as soon as possible. Documents deliverd in the morning before 11.00 hrs am can be delivered the same day before 17.00 uur pm.
