Unguri is one of the larger Latvian companies, specialising in the extraction and processing of peat and peat products. The company manages a total of approximately 550 hectares of peatland and serves customers all over the world.

About the Van Egmond Group

The Van Egmond Group is a family-run business founded in the Netherlands in the 1920s. The company is a leading supplier of high-quality growing media and raw materials and operates a modern production facility with its own terminal, located in the Port of Amsterdam. The Van Egmond Group imports and processes bulk raw materials such as peat moss from suppliers such as Unguri, as well as from its own peat bogs in Estonia.

Vision for the future

With the acquisition of Unguri, the Van Egmond Group is strengthening its vertical integration within the supply chain. By having direct control over the production of peat and peat products, the company can better guarantee quality, increase efficiency and serve its customers even more effectively. With this expansion, the Van Egmond Group is positioning itself as a single, integrated entity that controls the entire value chain in the peat and substrate industry.
